During my Ph.D. I acquired or proved the following skills.
  • Solving complex problems - As a Ph.D. researcher in mathematics, I had to think about and come up with solutions to complex problems.
  • Perseverance - Even when the going gets tough, I will not give up.
  • Taking initiative - I proved to be able to work independently and take initiative.
  • Communication skills - I proved to be able to communicate my ideas and work successfully, through presentations and teaching classes (see also my teacher education and student jobs below).
  • Able to collaborate - Results were often obtained in collaboration.
  • Internationally minded - Attended international conferences and participated in three months research program at UCLA, Los Angeles.
  • Versatile - My interests and areas of expertise are bigger than just pure mathematics. For instance, I successfully completed a small research project in physics education during my teacher education.
